Since 2002, Dockweiler Beach has been under 24-hour video surveillance by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department to act as a deterrent for graffiti artists. So far, the program has been successful in preventing illegal tagging on the retaining wall.

There is a beautifully paved pathway that runs alongside Dockweiler Beach for cyclists, pedestrians, and rollerbladers to enjoy. The path stretches from Imperial Highway down to Vista Del Mar Beach. The path makes Dockweiler Beach great for people-watching since dozens of visitors can be found walking along the path admiring graffiti, looking at ocean views, or taking out their dogs for a walk.

While visiting Dockweiler Beach, there are many food options available to hungry visitors. There are several restaurants located within walking distance of Dockweiler Beach which offer everything from Mexican food to Chinese cuisine. Visitors can enjoy lunch or dinner at one of these restaurants or get a quick snack from a food truck.

There are plenty of shopping opportunities available for visitors to Dockweiler Beach. Visitors can check out the shops and storefronts along Imperial Highway before taking a stroll down Vista Del Mar Beach.
